Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to read our content, understand our work, and reach us, regardless of ability or the tools they use to browse the web. We build and review the site with that goal in mind, and we fix barriers as we find them.

Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content more accessible, and they map to the requirements referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508. We test against them as we build and update the site, though we cannot guarantee that every page meets every criterion at all times.

What we do

Steps we take to keep the site accessible include:

• A "skip to main content" link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• Text and background colors chosen for readable contrast.
• Headings, labels, and landmarks that give screen readers a clear structure to follow.
• Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
• Full keyboard operability for menus, forms, and interactive elements, with a visible focus outline.
• Respect for the operating system "reduce motion" setting, so animations calm down for people who prefer that.
• Layouts that adapt to zoom and to small screens without losing content.

Compatibility

The site is built to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and common assistive technologies such as screen readers and speech recognition software. Older browsers may not support every feature.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site are still being improved. A few areas we are aware of:

• The scroll-driven conversation animation on the "What is Grooming?" page is decorative. The same information is written out in plain text on that page, so nothing is lost if the animation does not play.
• The whitepaper is a long technical document, and some of its embedded figures may not yet have full text descriptions.
• A few third-party elements, such as the Candid transparency seal and the donation form, are hosted by outside providers and are not fully under our control.

If you run into any of these, or something we have not listed, please tell us. Real reports help us prioritize.

Please include the page address and a short description of the problem and the device, browser, or assistive technology you were using. We try to respond within five business days, and we will work with you to give you the information or service you were trying to reach.

Ongoing effort

We review accessibility as we make changes to the site and update this statement when our practices change. This is a living commitment, and your feedback is a big part of how we improve.
