Donor transparency

Where your dollar goes

We would rather show you the actual work a donation buys than hand you a pie chart and hope you trust it. Here is the path a gift takes, what it pays for, and what it never pays for.

We deliberately do not show a percentage split. As a 990-N filer we have no audited breakdown to support one, and a precise-looking chart we cannot back is worse than no chart. The labels above describe the shape of our spending honestly.

What each one actually means

1 · Training

Teaching the model what grooming looks like

Aletheia learns from a corpus of roughly 2.5 million conversations drawn from research datasets, public federal court records, and synthetic scenarios we generate ourselves. Training runs on GPUs, and GPU time is the single most expensive thing we buy.

2 · Serving

Keeping detection running, every hour

A detection model is only useful if it answers in real time, continuously, without falling over. That means servers, monitoring, uptime alerting and the engineering to keep it healthy. This is the quiet recurring cost most donors never see, and it is why monthly gifts matter more than their size suggests.

3 · Research

Checking it still works, and works fairly

Predator behavior shifts and language moves fast. We spend on evaluation, benchmarking and bias testing, including making sure the model does not over-flag LGBTQ+ young people, non-standard dialects or survivors discussing their own abuse.

4 · Education

Helping adults recognize it sooner

Detection catches what has already started. Education stops some of it from starting. We publish guides for parents, educators and platform safety teams, and we give them away. See the Education Center.

What we never spend money on

Buying data about children. Our corpus comes from research datasets, public court records and synthetic data we generate. We do not purchase personal data.
Storing the conversations we score. A request is scored and the content is discarded. Where logging is on, we keep a hash and metadata, never the text.
Advertising trackers. Strictly necessary cookies and first-party analytics only. No ad tech, on this site or anywhere else.
Platform fees on your gift. Our donation form runs on a platform that charges nonprofits no transaction fee, so your gift reaches us intact.

Being straight with you about our size

Polycreek is a small organization. We file a 990-N, the short annual return for charities with gross receipts under $50,000, which means we are not yet at the size where an audited financial statement is required.

We would rather say that plainly than publish a precise-looking percentage breakdown we cannot back. As our filings grow, the detail on this page will grow with them. In the meantime, our returns and governance documents go to any donor who asks.

Give once or monthly. Monthly gifts are the ones that keep detection running, because servers do not bill annually.
